Recruiter – Engineering & EPC Hiring
Manage end-to-end hiring for engineering and EPC roles — from the hiring brief and sourcing to screening, interviews, offers and joining — based at Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. Candidates living in or near Thiruvanmiyur will be preferred.
About the role
We're looking for a Recruiter to manage end-to-end hiring for engineering and EPC roles, based at Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. You'll take each requirement from brief to joining: understanding what the hiring manager needs, finding and screening the right people, coordinating interviews, and following through until the candidate is on board.
It's a role for a recruiter with 2–3 years of hands-on experience, ideally hiring for engineering, EPC, construction or manufacturing companies, who is comfortable with technical job titles and enjoys talking to candidates every day. Candidates who live in or near Thiruvanmiyur will be preferred.
What you'll do
- Take detailed hiring briefs from hiring managers, covering the role, skills, experience, location and budget.
- Source candidates through job portals (such as Naukri and LinkedIn), referrals, social media and internal databases.
- Write clear, accurate job postings and publish them on the right channels.
- Screen CVs and conduct telephone screening for technical fit, experience, notice period and salary expectations.
- Shortlist candidates and share well-presented profiles with hiring managers.
- Schedule and coordinate interviews, and keep candidates informed at every stage.
- Support offer discussions, collect joining documents and follow up with selected candidates until they join.
- Build talent pools for recurring engineering roles, such as piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil and project controls.
- Maintain the recruitment tracker and share regular status reports on open positions.
What we're looking for
- 2–3 years of recruitment experience, preferably hiring for engineering or EPC companies.
- A graduate in any discipline. An MBA or postgraduate qualification in HR is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with job portals and LinkedIn, including keyword and Boolean searches.
- A working understanding of engineering disciplines and job titles, or the willingness to learn them quickly.
- Good communication and follow-up skills, with a professional and friendly phone manner.
- Well organised, target-driven and able to handle several open positions at once.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Living in or near Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai, is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience of bulk or project-based hiring for EPC or construction projects.
- Experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS).
