Accounts Officer
Own the books for a set of SME clients at a boutique consulting firm founded by Chartered Accountants, accounting, compliance and reporting, hands-on and hybrid, in Balewadi, Pune.
About the role
What this role is about.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys owning the day-to-day numbers for a portfolio of SME clients, keeping their books clean, their filings on time, and their reporting sharp. You'll handle book-keeping, accounting and the full run of compliances, and work directly with clients on everything from MIS to payments.
The firm is a boutique consulting practice founded by Chartered Accountants, so you'll learn alongside people who care about getting the fundamentals right. It's a strong place to deepen your accounting craft across Indian GAAP, direct and indirect tax, and real client work.
What you'll do
The work, day to day.
- Run accurate accounting and book-keeping for the clients assigned to you.
- Make sure your clients meet every fiscal and statutory filing on time, as the law requires.
- Independently manage GST, TDS and labour-law compliance, and handle payment processing.
- Prepare reports and keep internal book-keeping and accounts in good order.
- Work closely with clients, sharing MIS and other reports they rely on.
- Manage payments and day-to-day banking relationships.
- Actively support client onboarding and handovers.
- Handle customer and inter-team liaison, with the daily planning, tracking and admin that keeps it all moving.
What we're looking for
The right fit for this role.
- Minimum 2–3 years in a relevant role, ideally a mix of public accounting and private industry; experience in small or medium-sized firms is preferred (social-sector exposure a plus).
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (B.Com) from an accredited university, highly preferred.
- Core accounting under Indian law, with a working knowledge of direct and indirect taxation.
- Sound Indian GAAP and hands-on accounting experience.
- A proven ability to communicate and collaborate within a team.
