Job Responsibilities
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Piping Designer with strong experience in SP3D (SmartPlant 3D) for engineering and design projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing piping layouts, 3D modeling, extraction of design deliverables, and coordination with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain piping 3D models using SP3D.
- Prepare piping layouts, equipment modeling, routing studies, and piping arrangements.
- Generate and review piping deliverables including:
- General Arrangement (GA) drawings
- Isometric drawings
- Pipe support drawings
- Plot plans and piping layouts
- Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil & Structural, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams for design integration.
- Conduct model reviews, clash detection, and design optimization activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, client specifications, and safety requirements.
- Support project execution activities within schedule and quality requirements.
- Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings and design reviews.
Skills/Experience
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 – 12 years of experience in piping design for industrial projects.
- Strong hands-on experience in SP3D (SmartPlant 3D) is mandatory.
- Good understanding of piping design fundamentals, piping materials, and layout practices.
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power, or Process Plant projects.
- Familiarity with international standards and engineering practices.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and vendor drawings.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to E3D / PDMS / AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
- Experience in brownfield and greenfield projects preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project environment.
